Our story

Neurabuild is a company that stands out for its impressive experience in product development, thanks to our founder, Ben Blaine. Ben has been a part of the founding team of several tech companies in South Africa for 11 years, where he helped to start, build, and grow their products. His unique experience working closely with enterprise clients, developers, and customers to build and roll out products has proven invaluable to the success of Neurabuild.

After completing his MechEng Bachelor's degree at Stellenbosch University in 2010, Ben worked at FireID, an IT security company that pivoted into an incubator that built companies such as Luno, SnapScan, Journey Apps, OfferZen, and others. He then joined the founding team of SnapScan, a mobile payment app that was acquired by Standard Bank and rolled out nationally. Today, SnapScan is accepted in 60,000 stores in South Africa.

Ben's experience continued to grow as he joined OfferZen’s founding team in 2015, where he remained until 2021. During this time, he helped OfferZen to become the primary way for South African software developers to find work and built a team that manages this responsibility. He managed software projects and worked closely on a collaboration with Investec Private Bank to build a developer community and Programmable Banking product. He also helped OfferZen to become a sponsor for all South African tech conferences, expanding its reach and impact.

Ben's latest adventure is the founding of Neurabuild. The company was born out of a conversation between Ben and Gregory Cohen, an Associate Professor at the International Centre for Neuromorphic Systems (ICNS) at Western Sydney University in Australia. They realized the potential to commercialize promising research projects developed at ICNS, such as Astrosite™, by tapping into South Africa's abundant and world-class talent pool of software developers.

Together, they established a South African-based software development company that could take on projects from ICNS. This led to the incorporation of Neurabuild, a company passionate about building research-backed tech solutions. They specialise in designing reliable, secure, and quality software with quick turnaround times, helping to accelerate the conversion of groundbreaking research into world-changing innovations. With Ben's abundant experience and leadership, Neurabuild is a reliable and experienced company that clients can trust to deliver exceptional results.
